Maiden lane splitting

It's taken six months, but it happened: my maiden lane-splitting attempt. Finally.

I had the smoothest, fastest ride into work today than i've ever had. Every single set of lights was green; traffic yielded almost magically, and to top it all off, it was a gorgeous morning. Far from the forecast of rain, it started off the perfect winter day - sunny, nippy, with slight breeze blowing.

I did it unconsciously at a set of red lights, which turned green just as i swung in between the stationary cars. I was buzzing with the silkiness of motion this morning, and it just seemed wrong to arrest it when there was a clear path ahead.

What i was doing only occured, when i was actually where i wanted to be in the lines of traffic. And then of course i started and the bike wobbled, but the entire flow of the action felt so natural, i didn't really fight it (and also, it wasn't a long line of cars).

So now i know i'm not a complete loser.

Yeee haaa!
